– No, I've bought a few items. Not many, granted, but some.
– But just nothing from the internet?
– Not this year.

– Shops. I've actually gone to shops.
– You mean physical, non-virtual shops?
– ...Yes.
– Well, that's novel. How did you find them?
– They're all over the place. I mean, clearly no longer literally all over the place, but if you go out and about you can hardly fail to see them.
– But ones that are useful for buying thoughtful Christmas presents? As opposed to newspapers, or toothpaste, or cat food?
– Yes. Although sometimes you may need to adjust your expectations somewhat and be prepared to give more modest gifts.
– Such as cat food?
– It comes in some interesting flavours nowadays.
